It’s been a busy November for the CMR sisters! Though the sisters' first priority is prayer, the sisters also actively work to spread the Good News!
Check out what’s been happening and the photos below!
In Pennsylvania...
Sr. Gwen Huyền gave 2 talks on “Finding True Identity” for a youth discernment event ("The Call 3") hosted by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on November 16, 2019. It was wonderful time for the 120 teens & young adults in attendance to explore different life vocations (What is a vocation?).
There was a combination of small group discussions, ice-breaking and team building activities focused on God's Call and Invitation, along with performances by various Vietnamese communities and by the group of 14 Seminarians, six of which are Vietnamese! At least four women religious communities from the Pennsylvania area were present, along with the men Redemptorist community and Archdiocesan Priests and Seminarians. What a great way for young people to meet religious but also see how happy they are in giving themselves to God for the service of His People.
Sr. Gwen also visited TNTT Đoàn Têrêsa Hài Đồng in Allentown, PA to share with the youth about being open to the call of being a religious!
It was great meeting all the youth and having some personal one to one conversations getting to know everyone! Hopefully we will meet again, if not always in prayer!
Meanwhile in Texas...
Đoàn TNTT Emmanuel is one of the largest đoàn in the country with over 700 members and 60 youth leaders. Sr. Marie Trang and Sr. Janine Vân tried their hands at "vocation fishing" in these waters this past Sunday, November 17th. They spoke to the youth leaders/Huynh Trưởng, who were familiar with "the gray nuns", as Sr. Vân has been with this parish (Giáo xứ Đức Mẹ Hằng Cứu Giúp) for the last 8 years. Sr Vân began the talk with a story about President FDR and listening.
Sr. Trang continued by asking them to be open to whatever God may be asking of them and that a Come and See retreat does not automatically make one a priest or a nun - so no worries! The brief talk ended with a small gift of a Holy Spirit rosary bracelet. It was labeled: A.S.A.P. Always Say A Prayer!
Always say a prayer - for yourself, for those you encounter, for the world.
